Just as CPR revives a person suffering from a heart attack, prayer is a powerful, life-giving way to intercede for someone who
needs a grace-filled encounter with Jesus.
“No one can come to me unless the Father . . . draws them.”
(John 6:44).
The harvest is truly plentiful, as the Lord said, but he expects us
– yes, us – to walk into the fields to participate in the harvest. We need to participate at the grassroots level - but how?
Our vision is to see Christians growing in their resolve and
effectiveness in "Prayerful CPR":
Here's how it works:
C = Cultivate relationships...
Strike up friendships with neighbours, co-workers, business partners, clients, classmates, people at the gym, sports teammates, etc... Start praying for them.
P = Plant the seeds of the gospel...
Present God as an answer to issues when appropriate. This allows for a biblical perspective in a relevant way.
R = Request a response...
At some point, it will be the right time to simply request a response. Remember, you’re praying for them daily!
Commit to praying daily for four friends who need an encounter with Jesus. Our MB churches have about 50,000 people attending services regularly. What if each one prayed for four unsaved friends daily? Collectively, we could be praying for 200,000 every day!
Is it possible? Yes - if we focus our prayers and our lives in meeting the lost where they are at. Let’s trust God with the results and realize our redemptive potential. Who are you praying for?
