The Mennonite Brethren Herald was formed in 1962 as the offical English language publication of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Over time it has moved from a weekly to its current format of monthly. Each Canadian church member is entitled to a free subscription to the paper. The editors have been Rudy Wiebe (1962-1963), Harold Jantz (1964-1985), Herb Kopp (1985-1988), Ron Geddert (1989-1994), Jim Coggins (1995-2003), Susan Brandt (2003-2005), and Laura Klamar (2005- ).
For most years an index was produced by the MB Herald staff and published in one of the final issues of the year. Consistancey in how the index was created was not achieved so making a master index was not attempted. However with word search capabilities the index now becomes more powerful.
