Biographical sketch
David D. Derksen was born on March 30, 1881 to David Derksen and Katharina Mandtler in the village of Fischau, Molotschna, South Russia. His mother, Katharina, died when David was only eight years old. In 1906 he was ordained as a minister.
On December 9, 1926 he and his wife immigrated to Canada and first settled in Winkler, Manitoba. After one year they moved to Boissevain, Manitoba and began farming. Eleven children were born to this couple. He was sick during the last few years of his life. He died on November 27, 1964.
Scope and content
The material in this collection consists primarily of sermons written by David Derksen. Most of the sermons are handwritten in the gothic script, and a few are typed.

The material in this collection was donated to the archives by Peter Derksen in November 1972.
