Administrative history
Gospel tidings was a radio outreach program that was started by three separate churches, Nutana Church, West Portal Mennonite Brethren Church and Central Mennonite Brethren Church in October 1940. The program began as a 15 minute show with a message and some hymns broadcasted in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. H.S. Rempel is noted as a founder of Gospel Tidings. The radio ministry ran for 35–40 years, terminating around the late 1970s. The first station that hosted this programming was CFQC, however 2 years later, the station decided to no longer broadcast Christian programs, so Gospel Tidings switched frequencies to CJWW. Gospel Tidings was known by three different names throughout its ministry; Gospel Echoes, Works of the Gospel and Gospel Tidings. It is unsure as to why Gospel Tidings terminated their radio ministry in the late 1970s.

It is unsure as to when and by whom the documents were added to the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies.
