Administrative history

Like other churches in the Herbert Kreis (South Saskatchewan District) Mennonite Brethren pioneers from the east founded the Greenfarm Church in the early years of the twentieth century. J.W. Thiessen led the church at its founding in 1913. The congregation constructed a church building in 1918. By 1950 fifty-six members attended Greenfarm and they supported one missionary. For those under the age of 25 English was the primary language of instruction during Sunday School; adults used German in their classes.

Leaders and ministers since J.W. Thiessen have included Joh. Thiessen, J.J. Thiessen, Isaak P. Penner, and George Penner.

Greenfarm Mennonite Brethren Church dissolved in 1962. Many members transferred to the nearby Mennonite Brethren church at Herbert.
