Administrative history
Westview Mennonite Brethren Church is located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. A group of members from the Newton MB Church gathered together to form a mission church in 1962. A year later, a chapel was built on Saskatchewan Avenue. The congregation struggled for a while and in 1974, the church finally decided to dissolve.
The leaders of the church included: John Quiring (1962–1964), John B. Epp (1965–1967), Edward R. Giesbrecht (1968–1971).
The language of worship is English.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of constitutions, church membership certificates, minutes from the congregational, council and Sunday school meetings, and church financial ledgers. Artifacts include three stamps (official church seal, return address, tax number).
Custodial history
Some of the records were microfilmed in 1978 through the work of the Historical Commission of the Mennonite Brethren Conference.
