Administrative history
The Christian Fellowship Group began in 1972 in the new town of Leaf Rapids, Manitoba. A mine was begin in the area in the late 1960s and a new town was built nearby. The original idea was that this new town would have one ecumenical worship centre, but this broke down during the first year. Day camps were held in 1972 and regular worship services began in August, 1972. In 1974 the congregation rented worship space in the town centre mall. It is not clear whether the 1974 affiliation with the Manitoba Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches ever proceeded to full membership in the conference. Later, in 1981, they built their own building. During the 1980s and early 1990s the congregation struggled due to the vagaries of the mining industry. It finally dissolved in 1993. The membership stood at 22 in 1976 and 3 in 1993.
The leaders of the congregation were: Gilbert Berg (1975–1978), Jacob Bergen (1979–1983), Hugo Reimer (1984–1987), and John Hiebert (1988–1993).

This fonds consists of an historical sketch of the congregation (1972–1978) and a brief history of the congregation (1966–1985), reports of the congregation to the MB Mission structure under which they operated (1971–1994), newspaper clippings from the town (1972–1987), constitution of the congregation [ca.1975], membership statistics (1974–1977), Leaf Rapids building project minutes (1981), schematic building plans (1981), correspondence concerning the building plans (1981), congregational membership meeting minutes (1983–1987).
Custodial history
Records were transferred to the Centre for MB Studies archives in Winnipeg, Manitoba [after 1993]. Some records were microfilmed in [ca.1980].
