Administrative history

The Westwood Mennonite Brethren Church in Prince George, British Columbia had its beginning on September 25, 1960 as the Peden Hill Mennonite Brethren Church under the leadership of Rev. John Esau. In 1961 it joined the Mennonite Brethren family of conferences and started meeting in its own building. Additional building projects were undertaken in 1963, 1974 and 1991.

In 1974 they moved to a new location in the Westwood area and subsequently renamed the church to Westwood Mennonite Brethren Church. Membership in 1965 stood at 65 baptized adult members; in 1975, 105; in 1985, 193; in 1995, 339; in 2000, 423.

Leaders of the congregation include Rev. John Esau (1960–1963), Rev. Helmut Klassen (1963–1967), Rev. Neil Funk (1968–1974), Rev. Henry Poetker (1974–1975), Rev. Nick Willems (1976–1985), Mel Fehr (1985– ).

Scope and content
This fonds consists bulletins, history, church directory, constitutions, photo directory, minutes, papers, and reports.

Custodial history
