Administrative history
The congregation was an outgrowth effort of the Lendrum Mennonite Brethren Church in Edmonton. They began meeting in 1978 and had their chartering service in 1979 with 35 charter members. They met in rented facilities. In 1983 they completed construction of their own meeting house. The congregation changed its name in 1998 to Sunrise Community Church. In 2000 the membership stood at 172.
The leaders of the congregation were: Dwayne Barkman (1980–1987), Marvin Schmidt (1981–1982), George Quiring (1988), Ray Wiens (1989–1999), Dave Follack, Interim (2000- 2001), Dennis Wiens (2001- ).
The language of worship is English.

This fonds consists of a congregational history (1985), schematic building plans ([198-?]), congregational meeting minutes and reports (1987–1999), leadership team meeting minutes (1990–1995), congregational financial statements (1981–1995, 1998), and congregational bulletins (1985, 1991–1997, 1999–2000,2004-2005, 2007, 2008).
Custodial history
Records were transferred to the Centre for MB Studies archives in Winnipeg, Manitoba on a regular basis to 2000.
