| The American Family Association called for a boycott of Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic over censorship of the word "Christmas." The proposed Nov.1-Dec.25 boycott was part of AFA's ongoing campaign to ensure businesses and individuals "put Christ back in Christmas." Gap countered that it's important to display holiday signage inclusive to everyone, but later rolled out a commercial with "a very strong Christmas theme." AFA suspended the boycott.
