POLL OF THE WEEK
Re pastoral sabbaticals:
Every pastor should have the opportunity to go on a sabbatical at regular intervals.
Sabbaticals are necessary only when a pastor is burnt out.
Sabbaticals are too expensive and put too much stress on congregations.
Most professionals don’t receive sabbaticals; why should pastors?
I’ve never heard of a sabbatical for a pastor.

August’s online poll results

My church should spend money on artwork for our worship gathering space. (See “Telling God’s story with voices of fire.”)

•  Agreed. Good art is a response to God’s generosity and worth the investment. (53%)
•  Disagreed. There are more necessary ways to spend God’s money. (18%)
•  Artists should donate their work to the church. (22%)
•  Unsure. (7%)
September’s online poll results will be printed November

In his September interview, Willy Reimer stated that the Canadian conference had formally divested itself of the seminary and MB Mission. In fact, MB Biblical Seminary Canada and MB Mission are individual corporations, the former fully owned by the Canadian conference, and the latter jointly owned by the Canadian and U.S. conferences. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.—Eds
