so many things, life is what

the joints ache, the fenders
rust, and yet—
every sunrise is a baptism.
high tides and low tides
pregnant with their opposites,
melody of melted snow.
grace, like invisible feathers on your cheek.
life dreaming itself into wakefulness,
saying hello in angelic alphabets.
