The Executive Director of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches provides leadership for the national staff to serve our churches.
Reporting
The Executive Director reports directly to the Executive Board of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and is commissioned by the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in Conference. Accountability is mutual – the Board will provide the Executive Director with the authorization, resources, affirmation, involvement and servant leadership required for the successful realization of the responsibilities of the position; the Executive Director is accountable to the Board for performance with respect to the negotiated expectations and for compliance with the limits of authorization of the position.
Responsibilities
The Executive Director will maximize the infrastructure to fulfill the mission of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches in alignment with the Confession of Faith. The successful candidate is expected to develop the strategic plan in collaboration with the Executive Board and implement it. The Executive Director will develop and lead a highly effective team of national staff to create tactical plans to fulfil the Conference Vision and Strategic Plans. This position oversees the Conference operations are carried out in a sound and prudent financial manner, reporting on accomplishment of Critical Success Factors. The Executive Director is also an ex officio member of the Board of Faith and Life and the Property Trust Entity.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree (MA) or equivalent in leadership disciplines, with Bible or theology background is preferred. This position requires an individual with demonstrated spiritual trust along with administrative and management experience in a Mennonite Brethren church or organization, with preference given for those with pastoral experience. Candidates will possess strong administrative skills related to strategic planning, team leading and internal management. Exemplary leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
