On Friday, July 16 at Gathering 2010 the Canadian MB Conference will hold its annual general meeting as part of Celebration 2010. At that time we will ask delegates to accept changes to our General Operating Bylaws (GOB).

This updating is a follow through from the Conference acceptance of the governance model in 2004 and subsequent GOB revision accepted in 2006.

The most significant items are changes to the Executive Board duties, the removal of the Executive Committee, and changes to Board of Faith and Life, Audit Committee and Finance Committee.

The primary purpose of these changes is to get back in line with our Charter (which is currently in Canadian Parliament for its own updating) and our Board Governance Manual. Some items deleted from the GOB are now part of the Governance Manual.

The 2 documents provided allow people to see the old version and changes in colour, and also to see the GOB in its final form.

The Executive Board provides notice in the MB Herald April 2010 issue and on this website to comply with the 90 day advance notice for GOB changes, which is required by the GOB. The MB Herald will not publish these documents - they are only available on this website page. Delegates to Gathering 2010 are encouraged to print a copy of the documents to take to the convention for discussion.
